Nancy R. Rizzo, Ph.D., DABR | Founder and CEO

Dr. Rizzo brings 22 years of experience as a radiobiological biophysicist to the team. She is an acknowledged authority in the biophoton diagnostic technology field. Dr. Rizzo spent 13 years as Chief Clinical Radiological Therapeutic Physicist at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. Previously, she practiced at prestigious medical centers that included the University of Michigan and Royal Oak Beaumont. At the Mayo Clinic, she served as the lead clinical physicist before transitioning into her role as research scientist. During her last two years at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, Dr. Rizzo participated on the task force to create a program of integrated medicine and then co-chaired its first year with Dr. Connie Mariano (a former White House physician). Dr. Rizzo has a bachelor of science in medical physics, a master of science in radiological therapeutic physics, and a doctorate in biophysics, specializing in radiological processes and electromagnetic systems in medicine.

Thomas D. Blondi | President

Mr. Blondi has more than 25 years of executive and management experience in the information technology industry. His experience includes organizational development, sales and marketing, market expansion, positioning, internationalization, capital formation, and mergers and acquisitions. His extensive experience includes early-stage technology companies: CEO for Ethix Media, SpinGo Corp, Involve Technology, Hard Dollar Corporation, and Language Management, Inc. (LMI), as well as executive marketing positions with Cyclone Commerce, Inc., Peerless Systems Corporation, and Software AG. Mr. Blondi has lectured all over the world on a variety of industry and management issues and is a co-author of a strategic and management guide, “The Information Technology Challenge-Surviving.” He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and holds degrees in mathematics and physics.

Andrew Mason | Chief Technology Officer

Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in systems design and development, Mr. Mason leads the development team in the production of new systems, ensuring EPIC continues to provide efficient and effective cutting edge technology. Mr. Mason gained his experience with companies including Pfizer Health Solutions, Involve Technology, and McKesson/HBOC. As co-founder and senior vice president of Software Development at Involve, he was responsible for building a product that resulted in some of the industry’s largest SaaS contracts to date. Previously Mr. Mason was director of product development for HRA and Pfizer, directing software design, development, implementation, and maintenance for multiple solutions. Mr. Mason received his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Arizona State University and holds a software patent in Australia with additional international and United States patents pending.

Michael Stowell | CFO and Vice President of Operations

As CFO and Vice President of Operations, Michael Stowell builds on more than 20 years of consulting, entrepreneurial, and technology experience. He has proved his ability to successfully manage a growing company, and apply his financial and operational proficiency to drive and realize EPIC’s market and financial potential.
At Arris Ventures, a regional venture capital firm co-founded by Mr. Stowell, he had responsibility for operational matters including due diligence, all regulatory and tax compliance issues, preparing financial models, forecasts, budgets, and business plans. During his tenure at Accenture, he served as program manager of the eProcess initiative, which developed and deployed knowledge capital relating to the impact of eCommerce on business processes to more than 30,000 of Accenture’s professionals and clients.
Mr. Stowell holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a master of business administration from Arizona State University, where he participates in the ASU Technopolis mentoring program for new ventures.
